The Alumni Association of the University of British Columbia

Constitution

I.  The name of the Society is the Alumni Association of the University of British Columbia (the “Association”).

II. The purposes of the Association are:

  1. To recognize the contribution that the University of British Columbia has made to its graduates and society and to promote the interests of the University of British Columbia.
  2. To provide an independent viewpoint on university related issues through communication internally with the governing bodies of the University and externally with the various levels of government and the general public.
  3. To assist in the development of the University of British Columbia through the voluntary contributions of the Alumni in fund-raising activities.
  4. To prepare the Association’s members to assume some responsibility in connection with the management and direction of education institutions throughout the Province of British Columbia.

III.  No director or officer shall be remunerated for being or acting as a director or officer, but a director or officer may be reimbursed for all expenses necessarily and reasonably incurred by him or her while engaged in the affairs of the Society. This clause is not alterable.
