About the Volunteer Program

Volunteering with UBC Alumni Affairs

UBC has always recognized the important role that volunteers play in the success of the organization. As a $1.4 billion non-profit, UBC is governed by a team of volunteers who sit on the university’s Board of Governors.

Like the university, the UBC Alumni Association is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors who sets our strategic vision and mission and represents our 225,000 alumni. Our mission is to engage alumni in the life of UBC and volunteers are instrumental in fulfilling that mission.

In addition, to help meet our vision, we rely on a large number of volunteers from the community at large to provide their expertise on specific issues, to sit on a variety of committees and task forces and to generously give their time for alumni related events.

Currently we are developing and enhancing our volunteer programs, strengthening our commitment to you and your diverse needs and encouraging you to give of your time, talent, and treasure to make UBC even stronger. Yes, we have a fair bit of work to do to realize this vision. But we can get there with the help of our volunteers and we hope to convince you to be a part of that journey.
