I love a good podcast. Although, truthfully, I really only started enjoying them quite recently. I am more of a visual learner; and it was difficult to adapt at first. However, I decided to try it again and I found so much joy tapping into this super popular medium covering so many topics – including career development! I enjoy listening to them on my commute to work, right before bed or while cooking dinner.
Here are a couple podcasts I am currently subscribed to:
- The School of Greatness with Lewis HowesLewis Howes, NYT bestselling author shares inspiring stories from the most brilliant individuals, world class athletes, and influencers. His podcasts range from 6 minutes to upwards to an hour.
- Oprah’s SuperSoul ConversationsListen to Oprah’s personal selection of interviews with thought-leaders, best-selling authors, and spiritual luminaries. Her interviews will leave you feeling inspired and closer to your best self.
- Gallup Theme ThursdayFor my fellow alumni familiar with Gallup and Don Clifton’s StrengthsFinder 2.0. The Gallup Theme Thursday podcast breaks down each theme and interviews people to learn more about how it shows up in their life and its relevance to their work.
I am also excited to share the list I found on Glassdoor.com of the top ten career podcasts to listen to this year to keep you motivated and inspired. If you have others to suggest, tweet me @alumniUBCcareer and I would love to hear who and what you are listening to.
