Career Agility (Fall 2019)

Career Agility

Career Agility is a 6-week online career and self-exploration program designed for individuals at every career stage. This interactive course will help you gain clarity on your strengths and values while generating the momentum you need to advance your career.

As part of a group, you will move through a series of activities and reflections based on the research of the Hope Action Group*, a team of scholars and researchers focused on hope centered, solution-oriented career design.

Past participants in the Career Agility program report increased confidence, clarity and excitement about their career following the course. Many also say that their vision for what is possible and how to achieve it has been enlarged.

*The Career Agility program is based on the theory, research and career interventions of the Hope-Action Group. Members of the group include Dr. Norman Amundson, a professor emeritus from the UBC faculty of Education, Dr. Spencer Niles from Wm. & Mary University, and Dr. Hyung Joon Yoon from Penn State University.

The Fall 2019 session begins Monday, October 21, 2019 (ending November 29, 2019).

Is Career Agility a self-paced program?

Career Agility is a group program and is not designed to be self-paced. Participants move through the modules according to a timeline and alongside an online cohort of their fellow alumni, and the group discussion and regular engagement is an essential element.

What is the time commitment?

The course moves quickly so daily participation is very important. Before you register, please make sure you can commit to logging in for approximately 30 minutes every day.

Is live participation required?

Although the program is group oriented there are no live sessions. All discussions are text-based in a posting format. No matter what your time zone, you can participate! One of the benefits of this program is the opportunity to connect with alumni all over the world.

Will I be required to purchase textbooks and/or other materials?

No purchase of textbooks or additional materials is required for the Career Agility course.
