THE A PROJECT: Greater Vancouver Food Bank

Help Get the Greater Vancouver Food Bank’s Warehouse Sorted for the Holiday Season

With a mission of “providing healthy food to those in need”, the Greater Vancouver Food Bank (GVFB) provides assistance to approximately 9,000 individuals monthly across Vancouver, Burnaby, New Westminster, and the North Shore. Through specialized food nutrition programs they help ensure that children and seniors’ specific nutritional needs are met to help them thrive in each phase of life.

In addition, they offer food support to 112 Community Agency Partners throughout these communities, such as housing agencies, women and children’s shelters and after-school programs, who in turn provide hot meals and snacks to thousands of people each week including those struggling with homelessness. Last year, the GVFB distributed 7.1 million pounds of food across its programs.

Join us as we help prepare the GVFB for the holiday season by sorting food in their warehouse alongside fellow UBC alumni and friends.
