Gurpreet (Gurp) Sian, South Asian Arts Society
Gurp Sian is a Dancer, Musician, TV/Radio Personality, Actor/Producer and the Executive Director of South Asian Arts Society. As a performer, he has participated in dozens of international Bhangra dance competitions, as well as the 2009 JUNO Awards with Russell Peters, the Vancouver 2010 Olympics, and the Bollywood TOIFA Awards in 2013. He teaches North America’s first ever University accredited Bhangra dance courses at Simon Fraser University and Kwantlen Polytechnic University. Gurp remains committed to raising the profile of South Asian performing arts in Greater Vancouver and across Canada. He is also an avid sports fan, and since 2015 has been a member of the Hockey Night in Canada: Punjabi Edition broadcasting team.

South Asian Arts Society is committed to creating performance and educational opportunities for professional and amateur artists, while developing artistic forums that act as a platform for building knowledge of South Asian culture via new projects, new ideas, and new collaborations. We are active in promoting South Asian dance, music, and theatre via structured courses, professional performances, workshops, guest lectures, as well as presenting comedic plays, musicals, and dance dramas across Metro Vancouver.
